Need help selecting the wines for an upcoming dinner or some advice about what to purchase? Or perhaps you're planning a trip to any number of areas that can be called "wine country." I provide real-time advice, given the assumption that we all have things going on. You may retain my "on-call" services for a very moderate fee of $25/hour to employ me to do the research you don't have time for.
Pull-and-Pour Alerts
I'll handle your inventory in terms of drinkability.
Your wines will only be ready when your palate deems so. We'll discuss your tastes very specifically and I'll perform a "palate reading" for you. You'll notify me of cellar additions/subtractions any time that's convenient for you. Via email, I'll alert you of wines you should be consuming. In addition, this will work in tandem with your on-spot dinner or party plans, so you'll never open a wine that's inappropriate or too young/old. A palate analysis and electronic/print inventory is generated for $50/hour.
Pack-Stack Basic
Spring cleaning for the wine cellar.
I perform an on-site overhaul. Everything is pulled from the racks, if necessary, and your wine collection is restructured to meet your criteria of lifestyle, collection style, palate and general logistics. You'll be able thenceforth to grab the correct bottle in 90 seconds or less, and every wine will experience optimum throughput, never spending too little or too much time in your cellar. Handling fees are $1/bottle/times handled, and any necessary expenses (including travel) are required as a deposit. Contact for conultation.
Track Basic (Catalog/Inventory)
On-site or off-site comprehensive inventory services.
Your collection can be managed as a paper-based list or an electronic database, from simple to complex (in a variety of software repositories with extensive notes, etc.), depending on the end goal of ease-of-use. Off-site Track Basic requires communication via email/fax/US mail. Also included is eSommelier integration, provided you have an active Internet connection. Fees for Track Basic are $50/hour, and the fluidity of the process depends upon two-way communication.
Pack-Stack-Track Comprehensive
Full spring cleaning plus labeling/inventory.
This is a Pack-Stack service with additional labelling of every bottle. For clients who use a barcode generating hardware/software assembly such as eSommelier or any of the various POS systems currently in use. The same fees apply - $1/bottle/handling.
Site Visit and Analysis
On-site consultation for cellar construction, winemaking logistics, and more.
Site visits to go over plans for a cellar are available, sketches included. I also advise home winemakers from grape sorting to barrel sampling. Fees are $35/hour plus travel expenses (local mileage fees apply).
Cellar Design
Kits or custom, racking and cooling.
You may provide me your blueprints and/or sketches for a complimentary strategic consultation. After an initial overview, a security deposit is required to proceed to in-depth design. Consultation/design fees of $50/hour defray the cost of the actual wine cellar should you choose to have me do it. CAD drawings are available on a sliding scale.
